Replacing JBL speakers 12' trd sport DCSB

Just ordered a new HU to replace the stock JBL unit...my question is, how hard is it to replace the "stock" JBL speakers? Not including the amp....from what I've seen so far this system is a pain to deal with so just checking before I get my hopes up...im talking about being able to use the existing cable wiresinstead of running all new wires? thanks!

 

i dont exactly understand what your asking... are you wanting to know if you can replace the speakers and use the jbl amp? if thats what your wanting to do i doubt it will sound good because most of the jbl speakers either work at 8ohms and it would either burn up the amp because aftermarket speakers run at 4ohm or it would just sound bad.. or are you wanting to know if the wires for the factory speakers can be found behind the radio so you can wire them in with the new radio?

 

Thanks Kevin, yes that's basically what I'm asking...if I can simply replace the stock speakers and continue to use the amp? At this point I have found the JBL system is a pain if you wanna upgrade.....

 

Yes you can replace the speakers and run them off the JBL amp. The must match ohm ratings and power ratings or you'll burn up the amp.

Honestly, ditch the JBL amp for the doors as the speaker selection you get that you can use with that amp isn't worth the money you'll spend. I'd just stick with the JBL combo if you don't want to swap the amp out. You still can use the JBL for the sub if you want. Buy a proper amp with good speakers and you'll be much happier in the long run.
