    Hello,

I know that Scosche makes a silver matching dash kit but it doesn't have the texture of the stock piece. Does anyone make a completely oem double din piece of am I going to lose the texture/pattern of the stock dash. I don't mind the silver but would rather be exact if I can. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

The "Metra" kit matches the texture and is pretty spot on with the color too. They carry them at Circuit City (if you can find one that still has any on clearance) for $29.99<-clearance price as of 2 days ago. Or they also carry them at Fry's Electronics but I don't know the price.
Good luck, just installed my double din yesterday with the scosche kit, it wasn't that hard of an install and it looks pretty good. I'll have to see if i have any of the problems that others have had( squeaking etc.).

I love this forum! You guys are awesome, thanks for the quick response, look like I'll try and find the Metra kit, the closest Circuit City is way shopped through so I'll try Fry's, thanks again!

Silly question, but does the kit only come in one color? I've seen it online but it doesn't have a color, picture shows black but I believe the kits may be silver, I'm looking at the Metra Kit. Thanks.

Toytec ultimate lift kit, light racing UCAs, ARB bumper and full skid plates underneath. Looking into redoing the suspension and maybe repainting the ol' Taco.
They are available in Black or Silver.

Thanks! That's what I thought, I'll make sure to check to see if they have it in silver before I order!

This is the note I received from the store, does this sound right? Gray? I think it's either Silver or Black, but maybe I mistaken.

"We only have 99-8214TG which is textured gray. The black version is out of stock and the regular gray was discontinued. We do not carry silver. Also, 99-8214 is for Toyota 2005. We do not have a 2009 kit."

I have the silver one and got it off Amazon. I recommend you use the metal brackets off the stock radio and put them onto the Metra kit. It's a tight squeeze but the kit is top notch. I even lost a white click and I talked to the guys at Metra and they sent me replacements....nice Customer Support!

Sounds reasonable to me! I'd say you're right!

How close does the color match on the Scosche kit?
