    I know people that swear by them, but I am not particularly a fan. From my limited experience and exposure to them, they are a sound shaper and not an equalizer. I want as flat a response as possible, not a boost in the upper and lower frequencies (past an audible level).

    APHEX Processor w/ Big Bottom lows and Aural Exciter highs plus 4-Way Fader

    * AX-1 Aphex in-dash processor.
    * The AX-1 uses smart circuitry
    * Equalizers simply boost up a static bass or treble frequency.
    * Harmonic enhancements.
    * Intensifies the bass harmonics
    * Massive sound improvements on both the high-end detail and the bottom end of the bass output.

    That is a very interesting description to say the least ("Big Bottom lows and Aural Exciter", "Massive sound improvements on both the high-end detail and the bottom end of the bass output." :eek: ) but if you like it that's all that really matters! :) On the other hand you may be quite surprised to find out just how good you can make a car sound with good speakers, proper installation and proper tuning. :D

    Agreed, looks like an unneccesay addition to the signal chain that probably does little to make an actual improvement on anything.

    I see what you guys are saying, however if you have not tried this or heard this work before :(. The studios use these to correct the imperfections. A good friend of mine has an awesome setup mainly for comp. boston acoustic (highest model), tru technology amps (shredder), DD9512 x2. I mean the works. Up until I made him sample this processor. Night and day. You can put this piece down, but others who have it. Won't sell it. :D:playball:

    I stand by what I said; I know guys that swear by them, but I am not a fan. I am looking for a fairly flat response (what sounds best to me) but this processor acts like a loudness control, unnaturally spiking the high frequencies and puts an annoying boost from the low mid range to the sub frequencies (120 Hz- 20 Hz).

    Some guys love it, I don't. If you like it then this is of no consequence to you. Just another opinion for others reading this.
