Welcome to TW from east TN!

I have the AVH-p4400BH model and i got it from Crutchfield and it’s the same way the edges don’t fit as well as they could. and it’s because of the tabs, i can push on it some and it will sit like it really should but one i let go it kinda comes back out/off a little.

I think they just use a cheap dash kit and that there is better kits on the market, I forget witch kit CT uses and which one people say is better.

I got a double din for my alpine from crutchfield and it fits perfectly. Its even tectured to match the dash.

I'd see how the tabs look compared to the stock HU. The metra kit that came with my HU when I bought from Crutchfield was a factory defect. Tabs were half as long as they needed to be. Crutchfield didn't want to believe the kit was bad even after sending them pictures. Ended up buying another one from Amazon that fit fine.

I used the yellow clips that came off my factory head unit with the metra and she snugged right up. I have a pioneer 4400.

I tried that and it did not work long, after i hit a few small bumps on a dirt road.
