Tablet install

Hey. I've done some searching on installing a tablet(samsung galaxy tab 2 7") and I'm trying to wrap my head around the install. I've only installed 1 stereo before. In plain terms, I should
-remove stock stereo
-install
- a single din stereo
- adapter for use of my steering controls to the single din stereo
- 12v power supply for tablet charging port
- connect 3.5mm stero cord from tablet to stereo for audio.

Is that pretty much the just of it? Thanks.

Or would going from the 3.5mm to RCA plug to an amp work better? I would just loose my controls from the steering wheel though.

 

You don't want to go directly to an amp. Depending upon the tablet / head unit, you can either use the 1/8" headphone output, or bluetooth to get the audio signal to the head unit. I've run my tablet into my '11's factory head unit using the Toyota aux input jack. Works fine. My Pioneer now supports streaming bluetooth.
