I was looking for some plastic speaker adapters to put 6X9 speakers in the front of my 2006 Tacoma.
I just could not justify the money that ********* was asking for their speaker adapters. (close to $45 with shipping). I mean come on they are just hunks of plastic.

I came across these plastic adapters on ebay from car-speaker-adapters.com

    (Ebay item #310112315413)
They were only $17.99 ($24.00 total with shipping). They look like they should work. Anyone ever used these?

You can mount them to mdf wood like in the pictures but the taco tunes ones are ready to go with the proper sized holes and all. I would just get the taco tunes for less hassle thats what I have

I picked up a pair of 6x9 ********* adapters for $10 from a guy off ebay a few months back. Alpine 6x9 speakers are in my closet back home just waiting for me to install them over spring break coming up....... They seem like they would be worth the money.

only word of advice is watch the size of your speaker. I have the Pioneer premier 6x9's and each one weighs about 6lbs and with the taco tune mounts I still had to buy a 1/4 inch spacer and trim away a little bit of the inner door panel just to clear the window.

Those are a convenient way to mount speakers however you really need a dense material to get the best performance out of your new speakers. If you do get those pack them with modeling clay or sound deadener to stiffen them up a bit.

I just found a set of 6x9 baffles out in the shop that have a slight cosmetic defect. It does not affect performance in any way however I prefer not to sell them unless perfect  so to help you get your speakers installed properly I will offer them to you for just the cost of shipping. :)

I just had 6x9 Kickers installed in my front doors and the door panels stick out a bit on the bottoms and don't fully clip in. When they took out my stock speakers, they cut the exsisting bracket and mounted my new speakers to it. I'm thinking I am going back to have them do it correctly.

Are the panels sticking out on both sides or just one?

    Easy remedy!

m speaker did the exact same thing. There is a plastic border that sticks out on the inside of the door panel and can be easily trimmed away with a razor blade. Then the door panel should clip down all the way.

Thanks Billas, I will give that a shot. Seems just the passenger door sticking out just a bit and I do notice the driver window meeting a little resistance when going up and down. I am guessing the speaker is putting pressure on it

You can Bass, but where I screwed up is I didnt know or check on the depth of the speaker. There are shallow and deep speakers. I needed a shallower depth because the door well doesnt support it well
