Should I Solder them New to old (sorry for spelling) or should I get the thing where you put one side in and crimp it and then put the other side and crimp it in.

Whoa. Put the tools down. Are you talking about wiring a stereo adapter harness to the new aftermarket stereo? Please do not cut any of the OEM wiring if that is what you are talking about.

To answer your question though without having all the info-solder and shrink wrap is the preferred connection but it can be botched as well.

Butt splice connectors will work fine but it seems that alot of people fail to crimp them properly.

When your ready to start DO NOT use the side style connectors EVER ON ANYTHING. Don't ask how I know.

I use splice caps and a dimpled Klein crimp tool. I used to solder but don't anymore, it's just not necessary if your crimp tool is legit.

And please please please buy a wire harness adapter. DO NOT cut off the OEM harness. If you have a good crimp tool like Kline and good quality crimps like nylon 3M then crimp caps or butt connectors or more than enough. If your going to use cheap crimp caps from Walmart or auto zone, then just solder and shrink wrap. Do not tape over solder, the sharp edges will poke through tape and either blow a fuse, a speaker or even your radio. Use quality shrink tube.

Just match up color to color on the radio harness and car harness adapter. Disregard the orange and blue wires.

A stereo shop or even best buy. Is your truck the standard audio system or JBL?

If you have the JBL system then its a whole other thing to deal with. If you have the regular stereo, then both of those links you posted will work. Not sure why they have 2 listings for it but those are the same harnesses
