Missing character on 2013 USB display

Not finding a solution when I search the forums-

I've got the non-entune, non-JBL display audio in my 2013. I've been ripping MP3's to a USB stick in an Artist\Album\title format and when the HU plays the file, it clips off the leading character of the artist line. i.e. Santana becomes "antana". The files look fine on the drive, and changing the artist folder name (adding a leading space or characters) does not change the display. Files were ripped from CD with FairStars freeware.

Anyone seeing this on their unit?
