Police horn

Looking to mount my pa system / horn in the truck for volunteering on ambulance service. Any ideas for horn location. It is mounted to a L bracket that bolts to the back of it. The mount to frame or where ever is under the speaker.



Can I mount it to the bar under the bumper? Or would drilling into that weaken the piece?

 

You can make a bracket super easy. The crush bar is held on by two brackets that both have holes in them you can put long bolts through.

Get some metal, drill the holes to match and make a brace, then mount your speaker to it. I have a 24" light bar mounted this way and it is solid.

 

So its OK to drill into crush bar without sacrificing its integrity

 

You won't need to drill. There are already holes in the mounts that hold the crush bar into place.

I don't see small holes being an issue but personally I wouldn't drill into it. Pop your head under the front bumper and you'll see the holes I'm talking about. I'll try and see if I can get a pic to you later today.
