My first Post! I'm not new to forums, just new here.

So I am waiting for delivery of a new Tacoma double cab, V6 4.0 TRD Sport. As I do not currently have the truck, aim unaware of several things.

I'm curious about the sound system. I did not get the JBL system with entune, so I do not have a sub, and it will come with factory speakers. Does anyone know how they perform? I like most all types of music, but mostly rock, and I like it loud and with plenty of bass. Will the stock speakers suit my fancy, or should I look into upgrades? If I do go for aftermarket speakers, will I have to replace the head unit, or will it suffice (does the head unit have an integrated amp which would hinder aftermarket speaker installation).

I have no experience with installing electronics or audio devices/components, and the little knowledge I have comes only from forums like this.

Hopefully this isn't a previously made thread.

    Thanks for all the help!

I can tell you the factory HU is horrible. There is a noticeable difference once you change it. If you like a lot of bass you're probably going to want to do a full system. I'm finishing my full system now. I did all the work myself. It was a pain in the ass and time consuming but it sounds great. No regrets. You can find all the info needed on this site. All you have to do is search for it and ask plenty of questions.

Finally finished my project a couple weeks ago. I didn't take as many pics as I should've. But it's all good.

My picture quality sucks. I was more worried about getting this thing done.

As far as the sub, I went with JL Audio 10tw3. Shallow mount . It's just enough bass. Sounds really clean. I'm satisfied with one sub. For now. Lol.
