Gotcha. Holy crap, $112 for cable? I remember when I lived in Newport News as a kid and we had cable for like $40. We didn't have it for long- even that was considered "too expensive."

Huzzah for Paul Simon! I love Simon and Garfunkel. I've got all of their records, (yeah, records- they were my dad's/uncle's from back in the day.) and I even have Art Garfunkel's Watermark album.

As an example of extreme cost-cutting, here's the head unit of the new Datsun Go, just a cell phone holder with aux and USB inputs:

I got a 1997 Tacoma and when I worked at the dealership I grabbed a stereo out of an 05 scion tC, It plugged right in and with a few shavings off the fascia surround it fit like a glove in the dash and sounds amazing compared to my old crappy stock head unit! Great option instead of spending tons on a new aftermarket unit. Check online, people are practically giving those Scion radios away!

Yep, but not for CDs. New cell phone mount. Great for movies for the kids.

I've owned my truck for a little over a year now and still have not ever put a single CD in my stereo...I can't even remember the last time I bought a CD. But then again I have bluetooth w/plenty of music on my ipod and XM so I can't imagine when I'd ever need the CD player.

I still have mix CDs on my visors and use the disc player several times a week. Notably on my Wednesday commute home, when the shitty NPR affiliate here broadcasts the Miami-Dade school board meetings *in their entirety*.

And, no, there are no other affiliates in this area to listen to. The closest is WQCS out of Fort Pierce/Saint Lucie since WXEL went to a music-only-cause-we-suck-at-fundraising model a year or so ago.

WLRN blows goats if you aren't republican, immigrant or hispanic

    *threadjack off

But, yes, I still use my CD player. I just burnt a copy of Hugh Laurie's new album to check out, since I won't be anyplace to buy one retail till prolly early next month.

Automotive sound engineers refer to an in dash CD player as a hot brick.

Use my CD a few times every week. Mix it up between that and Pandora one.
I still love to collect CDs, vinyl, shoot even cassettes if I like the album art.

Even when I still had a CD player in it, I hadn't used it in years.

iPod and streaming Pandora for me.
