Alpine PDX 5 Channel or the JL Audio 900/5 both strong but footprint friendly amps

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
You can always do what I did for a while. I ran a JL Audio HD600/4 to front and rear JL components and a 12W3V3 and then later added a sub amp when I switched to (2) 13TW5's but still had the 4 channel to run the components.

I have a JL HD 900/5 in the truck under the drivers seat and I have an Alpine PDX V9 in the RX7. Both are great amps. The Kenwood XRS5 is good too.

is it better to run a 5 channel amp or two separate amps for the sub and the door speakers?? im currently running a jl 12w3 sub and have not yet decided on the door speakers if that matters.

Depends on what you want. A single amp is easier to wire and find a place for. But seperate amps are more flexible in that they allow you to change amps as your need/desire hit. Also if you lose an amp, with a single amp setup, you get awfully quiet, with multiple amps, you could do a quick re-wire to get some sound out.

A single amp setup (using similar style amps from the same brand) is typically way cheaper. Multiple amps is a pain. Long live the 5 channel!

I did the 5 channel under the drivers seat and the processor under the passenger seat. Subs are under the rear seat. Seemed like the most logical way to do things in my opinion. :D
