Bought my first Tacoma yesterday. So stoked.
It's the limited package and has JBL speakers.
Anyone know if I can turn the volume all the way up?
I only get to 35 or 40 out of 50 and it is incredibly loud.

Would love to push it as far as it can go, but don't want to blow my new speakers.

    thanks!

How do you know it goes to 50 if you haven't already put it there? Just asking because my non-jbl pos factory system goes to 62 or 63...

BTW, welcome to TW from Oxford, MS.

Great point. I was basing that on how far the volume bar had progressed on my screen.

I know that my iPod connection has output settings.. if your output settings (gain) is high on the output side, you will get more volume with less movement of the knob (toyota Volume knob).. if you have it set to low output on the iPod side, you will have to crank it to "50" to get more volume. I believe it is a good idea to have a nice balance on these settings for decreased distortion...

    Just got it!
Be careful, those tweeters are $100 a pop - ha! Had to replace one. However that thing can BUMP without even cracking.. I have a 2010 so mine probably died from a while of abuse. I constantly have mine in the 30s and up to 40 sometimes.

Not sure how the newer ones are, but my 05 has the JBL system and I think it is trash. It blew pretty easily (I'm running an aftermarket pioneer deck now). It still sounds alright at low volumes but you turn it up very loud at all and you can tell some of the speakers are blown.

I'm with you bro. I drove a truck with the JBL and was really, very unimpressed with it. I don't have the JBL in my current truck and I'm even LESS impressed with it. I don't hear well to start with so I can never really hear it well until it's turned nearly all the way up (47 on the 63 toyota scale whatever that mean) and by that time there is zero bass left in the system. And the source doesn's seem to matter rather it's iPhone (USB or Bluetooth), CD, AM, FM or Sirrus/XM it all sux. I'm trying to work through my OCD and replace it with a non-factory system but, really want to ensure that all the functions work (steering wheel, streaming audio, bluetooth on phone ect) and of course I'll have to make sure the lighting is color matched and can be dimmed with the reostat. Sometimes I feel like I'm my own worst enemy! :)
