I have a 2006 toyota tacoma prerunner double cab with the stock radio and was wandering if the stock radio would be able to run subs and a amp. I don't have the jbls radio. Just the original. Or would I have to buy an aftermarket radio also?

I suppose you COULD...but the amp more than likely will have a low-line level input (RCA). You would need to splice some wires going from your stock rear speaker wires, to a line level converter, then the RCA's from the converter to the amp.

It's more work, but I've done it before. And you wont really get the benefit that the subs and amp will provide without a better head unit with a better equalizer and subwoofer devoted sound setting/output.

Yes, you probably could.. But with the aftermarket head peace, you get that extra amp-ege.. (sounds more crisp)

I'll probably just go ahead and buy a new head unit. Any suggestions?
