You have to add a wire from the spiral cable to the radio and a cable to ground.
And buy the 2014 controls of course. It wasn't too bad.

I have a 2013 radio. Non JBL. Will the steering controls work if I install a Navi unit? And it can come from a 2013 or 2014? Or just a 2014?

Where did you get your VIN to register the entune?

I had the exact same experience. Got it installed in just under an hour. Thanks to the OP for the write up!

I just google searched for "2014 tacoma navigation vin" and found a dealer that showed the vin.

Well, installed my radio today. Only real issues I ran into were:

    1) missed two of the 4 bolts holding the radio in the first time, couldn't figure why it wouldn't come out

    2) noticed a box attached to the bottom of my radio that wasn't in the OP's instructions; after googling the part number, turned out to be the XM/Sirius module

    3) I didn't have a missing location for the antenna, so I just replaced the original wires and I guess one of them is the antenna as it worked fine; I guess I have a spare antenna now - or maybe I need to sell it with the radio

Anyone know if there is any difference in the stock (entune plus) antenna and the one that ships with the kit from FLTrucks? I didn't pull anything from the dash because several of the wired are lashed together with electrical tape.

the spare antenna are for the 2013 and older models. the 2014 came with them standard, so you can sell the new one you got with the old radio. I plan on doing that as well.

Has anyone heard of problems installing a 2015 HU into a 2007 Tacoma?

You would need the adapter harnesses and possibly some other things. There are plenty of threads on here about installing 2012, 2013, and 2014 HUs into 2005-2011 trucks. I have a 2013 touchscreen in my 2008.

    Just search around.

I received my upgraded navigation radio from FLTrucks (thank you, excellent turn around time). I am not a handy person, but between this post and a few beers, I felt confident that I could tackle this. It was very easy and the instructions were spot on. I did not partake in the gordita, just day old pizza and a few bud lights.

Question: do i need to unplug my battery while changing out the head unit? i noticed in your pics you had a key in the ignition and the car icon was lit up next to your clock.
