Hello all, I'm thinking of replacing my front speakers with some nice 6.5's. Before I do that I have a question. I have some old but serviceable 8 ohm speakers that will fit behind the seat. I want to hook them into the HU as rear speakers. My question: Will the stock HU do ok with the 8 ohm's ?? The forum's knowledge & opinions are welcome.

    many thanks Rick

Radio On Mod, Complete new stereo with 10" subs, Truxedo bed cover, GT-MAT through doors and rear cab.
In my 2013 with JBL, they speakers ran at 2ohms. Putting in higher ohms will decrease the volume of the stereo. I would not use those speakers.

Also, on the topic of rear speakers: most do not put in rear speakers because they provide only a small amount of "filler" sound in the cab. Invest your dollars into great sound in the front. Imagine a rock concert - 900 speakers in the front and zero in the back! If you want to put rear speakers in your Taco, make sure they are subs :)
