Go into the nav settings and you can adjust it in whichever direction it's off on.

Choppy as in not updating quickly? I think when I first installed mine it wasn't that fluid but that lasted about a day.

what year is your truck? before a certain year the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) was not in the harness and in order to be accurate the NAV needs this input taken from the ECU down under the glove box. It's a pink wire. I can dig up pics if you think that is it.

You can also check if your harness has it, it's the pink wire going into the 28 pin connector. I can't remember the pin (maybe 2?) but it's at one end. If you think this is the problem I will take a picture and tell you what pin.

Thanks gents I'll have to look. Mine is an 06 and I mounted it with 3m double sided tape to the top underside of the dash. I don't think there is any interference.

Had anyone successfully connected an iPhone 6 to Bluetooth? My wife has one, won't find the Nav. I still have my iPhone 4s with iOS 8 so I may rule iOS 8 but again this is a different device.

My wife had a 5 but had to get the latest and "greatest"

If anything, this may require a new version firmware update from Toyota to the headunit and if that's the case, it may be a while.

Got it to work. Had to go into Bluetooth settings on the head unit and hit "Add" then on her phone it found the head unit. Messaging works like older iPhones where it displays on screen.

I've never been able to get messaging to work. Wish I could with my iPhone 6. Honestly I havent really tried to make it work other than just hoping it would automatically set up. I'll tinker with it tonight.

On the phone go to Settings>Bluetooth and hit the (i) next to Tacoma you should get a menu. In that menu toggle on "Show Notifcations"

This may have already been asked... But could you avoid the trimming of the surround by buying a 12+ surround, or would that not fit perfectly with the dash?

I thought about that initially but I have a 4WD so I would also need to buy the new 2012 4wd switch and hope the plugs in back were the same. Since you have a pre-runner you might be able to get away with the 2012 surround for cheaper.

An even cheaper option would be to call junk yards and get an extra radio surround so you're not hacking up your original. I spent $50 on a spare surround to cut up and paint before installing it in my dash.

It will fit perfectly. I bought a 12+ surround in black, used the vents and the little yellow clips from the old one and it worked.

Here is the other thread with the part number.
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...retrofit-w-info-part-numbers.html#post9256923

Silver color should be part number 5541204070 (check before buying, I have not bought it), it is should be around $202.10. The black one was $134. If you are good at painting save the $68.00 and spray paint it silver.

    Hi,

does any 86860 antenna work with this unit? I mean, I found that the 86860-0C010 antenna online is about 150$ to 200$ If I look to other 86860-xxxxx from Prius or Lexus. They are a lot cheaper, maybe around 50$ - 70$

Yep, but like said, if you have a 4wd, youll need the switch too.

I bought spare bezel to modify for mine.

Speaking of which... I do have a spare '05-'11 bezel for sell right now if you're interested ;)

I bought the ac controls from a 2013 to match the radio and the bezel. I have a 2010. I didn't realize one of the plugs isn't just plug and play. Is there an adapter for it to be able to work?

Can anyone give me the dimensions of this unit. Height, width and depth? I am thinking about trying a retrofit in to my 05 sequoia. I can fab whatever mounting bracket I need, just can't enlarge the factory opening much without getting in to the air vent.

    Thanks

Looks like you modified a 2011- bezel?. What if I bought a 2012-1014 bezel wouldn't it just pop right in, flush?
