why do you need to use the TacoTune spacers? Why cant you just re-install as you took out?

The holes from the stock speakers are HUGE!

the holes that are left from the factory speakers are about 8in in diameter, thats why u need the spacers but u can make ur own ones way cheeper out of 1/2in MDF and rolled ice and water shield

u can go that rote but its a real pain in the ass, all u really need is a double layer on the back side of the speaker mount (the side touching the door, and not the side the speaker is attatched to). All you are really doing is cancelling out any unwanted panel vibrations that might be caused by the speakers

Quick question. How do you unclip the wiring for the windows on the driver's side door? I got the passanger side with no problem, but I could not get the driver's side door harness off. I'm scared to pull it too hard. I can't imagine what that would cost me to replace. Any instructions on getting that off? Thanks.

There is a push clip thing just like the passenger side, but it is rotated 90 degrees counter-clockwise (if memory serves) just be patient, take your time and feel around and you'll find it. Squeese the tab, and it will come apart nicely like the other door.

Hey little new to this love the tips and mods I do have some input in the stereo department in response to an earlier thread crutchfield only offers 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 bc the goal is to put your bass behind you, your highs ahead of you, and your mid range beside you. The 6x9 puts more bass to your side. The best way to accomplish a good sound configuration is component speakers in the front 5 1/4 or 6 1/2 (component speakers come with the speakers tweeters that are separate from the speaker its self and a crossover to get the appropriate frequencies to the right speaker) this allows for better sound because you have the option to mount the highs away from the mids the factory tweeter location would provide for good sound.

Mr. Marv on here makes the mounts as well, and they are SPECIFIC to your speaker. In some applications, my 6x9's for example, required specific mount widths. Mr. Marv did an excellent job (and was cheaper).

Cheaper? Might want to check again . . . tacotunes has outdoor grade MDF for much less than the plastic mounts most people opt to buy from the website.

Custom sizes (specific to your size) are also available at no cost. Tacotunes are a full 1" thick (I think others are using cheap 3/4 mdf). The tacotunes mounts are made from outdoor grade MDF, t does not contain formaldehyde.

Most peeps opt for the plastic over the MDF as they are pretty much bullet proof.
