    I have a stock head unit, one 10" sub, and an amp. I bought a lc2i so I could hook up my sub/amp to my stock unit. What is the best way to wire it up? Do I need to run a remote and 12+ or not? Also is it best to splice into the stock stereo wires or solder them together? Any help would be great. Thanks!

    When you tap your speaker wires for the signal going into the LC2i it will generate a 12v remote signal for you to run to your amplifier (Audio Controls "GTO" feature). You will still have to connect a 12v Accessory switched wire and ground to the LC2i in order to power the unit itself on. As far as "best" way to connect it to your headunit, there are varying opinions on that and in my personal opinion I think you should consider soldering but only if you have the correct tools and experience with soldering wires using best practice methods. Tapping the wires or splicing into the factory wiring can be less intrusive, faster and will likely net the same results. Use a quality tap from a reputable brand such as 3M and you should be good to go if used as directed. If you need guidance on the correct wires to tap for your signal, speakers and power connections, reference this guide;

    Good luck and let us know how it turns out :cheers:

    Can I use my amps 12+ wire to my lc2i. Also do I need to run a remote or just the 12+ and ground?

    The LC2i requires constant power and ground. The GTO Signal Sensing turn on feature will act as your remote turn on (by detecting signal at the input).

    Check out our LC2i FAQ for more information.

    What size gauge wire do you suggest for the 12+

    The LC2i will take up to 12 gauge wire - I would suggest nothing smaller than 18 gauge. (corrected to 12 gauge - previously said 14 gauge)

    So 12 gauge for power and ground?
