My '14 has the "plus" stereo and I've been trying to use the USB with a 32Gb flash drive to play my music. The flash drive will hold multiple thousands of songs but the most the stereo will recognize is 497 (apple AAC/M4a format) or 499 (mp3 format). Anyone else run into this issue? Page 132 of the owners manual seems to indicate the limit should be 9999 files.

Are they in folders on the USB stick, or just files at the top level? If files, you might try using folders to see if that limit can be bypassed that way.

They aren't in a folder. That's a good idea. I'll give it a try and see if that helps.

That did it. I'm able to hold 500 songs per folder and it still reads it as one single library of music (just with a higher track total). Thanks Lurkin!

NP, haven't dealt with the Toyota unit, but I know the aftermarket HUs implementation of USB is minimal and "ify", so you need to go back to basics sometimes.
