I just got an AudioControl LC7 for a good deal on Ebay. I have never used one, but seems fairly straight forward. My question is where to mount it. Could I run regular speaker wires from the stock head unit, all the way to the back of the cab into the LOC. Then i would only need to buy 3-6' long RCAs from the LOC to the amps. Or mount the LOC up front, and buy longer RCAs and run to back of cab? I would prefer the 1st option since it is cheaper.

I am not sure which was the signal would be better or worse or if it wouldnt make a difference.

Won't make a difference either way. The LC7 is pretty big, so finding a place up front would make it difficult. You should be fine running speaker wire to the back of the cab. Do you have the JBL option in the truck? If you do, you would have to grab the signal after the JBL amp, otherwise, if it's the basic stereo, grab the signal off the front and rear behind the deck, simple.

Also, what about the power/ground leads? Since i will be locating the LOC in the rear of the cab, seems unnesssary to run power/ground off the stock HU when i will have the distribution blocks got power/ground in the back already for the 2 amps im running. I could just use the 16ga wire and run it off the open spot on the blocks straigh to the LOC. The remote lead i would still run from HU to LOC to Amps.

    Thoughts....??

Yeah, that would work. 16ga. would be fine for running the LOC off the distro. block.

Just thinking some more qbout it, and dont forget to fuse the LOC after the distro. block. A simple inline automotive blade fuse holder would work. Not sure of the power draw though, so you may want to find out how many amps it draws. I cant imagine too many, but you never know.

There will be a 150amp fuse between battery and distribution block. Then 2 runs straight to amps. I'm not fusing those lines. Would I still me to fuse the LOC?

I would fuse both amps and the LOC. But maybe that's just me being paranoid. Maybe someone else can chime in and comment. If you go to my build thread, you'll see I have the fuse at the battery, and fuses in my distro. block as well. That's why I would fuse the LOC. :)
