I had a stereo issue in my 2009 Tacoma access cab with steering wheel controls that showed up as early as the test drive and came back over eight separate "repairs" at the dealership until it was out of warranty and I repaired it myself by replacing the system. The thing would change stations by itself, turn on and off by itself and even change volume by itself. The best was when it turned on by itself with the volume at max when I wasn't expecting it. However, I've seen little to nothing about anyone else who has dealt with this.

I would suggest an aftermarket replacement. More features for less cost... Grab the steering wheel control adapter if you want to keep that feature. crutchfield is a great site and usually makes sure you get everything you need. Good luck. Keep us updated!

I did replace it. I just can't believe that so few others had an issue. My dealerships repair department must be even more inept than I thought!! Eight repairs and not repaired once!

Mine would tune itself. If I was listening to 95.7 for ex, it would go to 95.5, then to 95.9 and back to the station. I thought I had a ghost in the truck lol
