I took the plastic out from behind the seats today to get a look and prepare for putting down sound deadener. SHAME on Toyota for calling the JBL system "premium". What a P.O.S!!!!
I've seen better cones on sparkomatic speakers (circa 1982) pulled out of a Pinto from Tijuana!!! I believe I'll post a new thread that informs new Taco buyers that if a JBL system happens to be in a truck they're looking at, they should get a credit for about $900.00.
For me, the JBL and towing pkg. happend to be on the last white 2008 4x4 with O.R. TRD on the island. I regret the JBL and hope the "heavy duty" alternator with the tow pkg. performs better than their "premium" sound system.

Thanks for the encouragement, guys. When I get this done, I'll have my digicam handy and my laptop will be in the garage with me with the forum open in case of questions. I think the last piece will be Marv's subwoofer. Most everything else is here or on the way.

 

can't wait to see this pics. i'm in process of doing the same and just waiting on different components here and there. the wait is killing me!

 

I'm finally going put in some sound deadener for my system this weekend. I'm low on cash, so I got the RAAMmat and ensolite. I'll post pictures when I'm done as well.
