Hey guys, I hope I'm just missing something in the manual, but for the life of me I don't know what is causing my issue.

This past weekend I installed a Pioneer AVH-X5600BHS into my 07 access cab.

Approximately 5 seconds after the HU turns on it turns the display off, turns the volume down and changes me from FM2 to FM3. I am able to change all settings back immediately after this happens.

Any ideas how to get it to stop doing this?

never heard of this, doubt its from the install. Is it brand new? If so return it and get a new one. Might just be a defective unit.

After you change the settings do they stick until next reboot?

You might check to see if there is a firmware update for your unit on pioneers website.

There is a firmware update, though it is for a different issue. All settings hold and the HU works great after I turn the volume back up. I will try doing a re-set on the HU to see if that wipes this odd behavior. If not I can return it, but it's a pain to pull everything back out. I was hoping it was a settings issue someone might know about.

I have the exact same issue on the same HU in my tundra. Did you ever figure it out?

I HATE this HU by the way. The behavior sometimes is totally inexplicable.

tail gate lock, rear view mirror bracket, hood hinge brackets, and the list grows.
Quick question for you is there a factory reset on the head unit itself? Just throwing an idea out there for you, since my Pioneer DEH 80 has a reset button
