    My pioneer radio has a orange/white illumination signal cable. The Metra wiring adapter has a orange/white dimmer cable do i connect both or leave them unplugged.

    connect them - it'll dim your faceplate. Depending on your headunit it may or may not dim based on the voltage on that wire, meaning it may dim a pre set amout as long as your dash lights are dimmed to a certain darkness.
