I have a 2002 DC taco and I'm looking to put a sub woofer in. Only issue is size and budget. I know they make plenty of subs to fit in that small area, but none that aren't outrageously expensive. Would anyone have any ideas for me?

Dual (that's the brand) ALB10 from walmart. I know, walmart. BUT, when I had my '93 t100 single cab it was the only option I had, because of price and space. I decided to take a risk and buy it, and I loved it so much I bought another for my 2012 Tacoma. It's an all-in-one unit so you don't have to mount an amp, and it hits decent for what it is. Not gonna rattle anything outside the truck, but it's not built for it. It's $100ish, plus another $20 or $25 for an amp kit (I used an 8 gauge kit).

Good luck with whatever you buy!

Pretty much stock with some crap welded to it.
How are the install on those walmart subs? Can they go on a stock stereo?

youd be better off just getting nicer front speakers for that price.

You'll be displeased with what 100 bucks gets you for a sub set up.
(assuming you need wiring, amp, sub, and enclosure)

Do you ever plan to add to or upgrade later?

$100 bucks won't get you very far. Save up more money or go with Teamcurtis said and get better mids/highs. Adding sound deadening and better mids/highs will bring out some the bass a lot.
