In taking my stock head unit out I broke that little red wire that's sauntered on the od green one that I'm assuming was my power wire. What do I need to to to get it working my unit now

    What does "sauntered" mean?

Let's see some pics. You'll either have to repair it by soldering it or buy a pigtail from dealer.

Here's the sautered section that broke from this wire. I cut and crimped the part that was on the greenish wire so it's back together but I can't get the power red to get everything back on

Oh, I saw the Royal Canadian Navy emblem under your name. lol

I might be more concerned about why the red wire is sitting on your counter. What was that plugged in to? the stereo? That pin looks like it should be in a connector of some kind.

Ok this is what I did. The sautered part was cut out after it broke where it was connected to the od green wire. The red wire is part of a whole separate small black box with a ground wire and another wire running to the floor. I have the "od green" wire cut exposing the wire about 6 in from the pig tail that it runs to. I have tryed to just wrap it around the exposed piece to no avil. I'm going to try and sauter it tomorrow but didn't think that it would make a diffrence than if it's crimped or spliced

I can pull mine out tomorrow and take a look if you like and see what it's hooked to for you. I don't remember a black box in there though. You have the regular radio or the JBL?

That's the same year and what I had. I've got a dvd HU in it now but the wiring is all still there.

You can see where I have the od green wire cut open and the red wire coming from the black box that I believe to be key in my power sitiuation
