I installed alpine ine-z928hd head unit this morning with the Crux 61N harness and all of the steering wheel controls worked for me! I don't have the reverse camera to the head unit because mine goes to the mirror so I cannot say for sure on that but the wiring is there for a camera to be installed.

Does the Toyota OEM phone mic work well through this adapter? I'm curious because aftermarket head units usually come with one too. My OEM mic works pretty well as is.

Crutchfield says this will not fit for a 2014 Tacoma so I'm assuming that would be the same for a 2015

How did it work, and which steering wheel controls do you have? (rightside controls: call/hangup OR call/hangup/talk? Leftside controls vol+/vol-/up/down/mode OR 4-way pad w/return & enter buttons plus mode & Vol+/- buttons)?

Haven't gotten it installed yet but yes I have the steering controls like this:
    Right side call/ hang up
Left side vol up down, search (up down)
I did open the package to get a better look at it. I'm assuming that the connections I won't be using I just tape off. Not quite sure yet. I need to put in a call to Crutchfield. Then again in my situation I'm replacing the head unit , all the speakers, and adding an amp., and replacing all the speaker wire. So it's really just for those steering wheel controls.

Just installed a Pioneer Avic-4000NEX using one of these. From a wiring standpoint, super easy. If you have camera in mirror, you will have a few unused cables. From a "trying to fit the damn cable bundle behind the radio" standpoint, be prepared for some cursing. Browsing thorough some threads on this, the best idea I see is to use some string, and try to fish them up over the glove box side while you are pushing the unit into place. This will be attempted this weekend.

The Steering wheel control in my adapter are not working correctly, nor is my Satellite receiver. I called Crutchfield, and after troubleshooting, they decided to send a new wiring harness with SWC, and a new deck, "just in case".

    Good Luck!

Jammdogg that's what I figured with the wiring. I may have an easier time with placing the wire bundle. My head unit is the Pioneer DEH 80PRS single din. So I am thinking I will have some extra room in the dash

If I don't have steering controls or any of that stuff do I still need this install a new head unit?

I don't want to spend the extra $45 from crutch field if I don't have to.

If you have wiring skills you can piece this exact harness together for less than half of it's listed price.

And about 25-30 minutes of testing wires / soldering things together. Pretty easy.

I would be extremely grateful if you could point me in the right direction there. I'd rather not work through the headache of hacking a harness together if I can pick up a 61N for 90 bucks.

    Thanks!
