Speaker question

Do all double cab Tacos come with 4 speakers w/tweeters in the dash (not really in the dash but you get the point)?

 

I believe so for 2nd gens. The 'tweeters' are about steering wheel level on the front doors, close to the a-pillar

 

Yes, that is exactly right (on the location of the tweeters). My true question is now this:

When installing a new head unit, is there a wire harness that incorporates this six speaker setup, OR, are the 5 and 6 speaker wire simply spliced in to the front Right and Left speakers?

the tweeters are run in series with the door speaker that sits near your leg - do a search here to find more.

For most any vehicle (except for maybe bose systems or overcomplicated Cadillacs) there's going to be 4 channels. In any case, buy the universal adapter for your vehicle if you plan on replacing the head unit.
