Hey guys looking for some input here, I have a '13 Sport WITHOUT Etunes. Looking to upgrade the audio system the whole shebang, headunit, speakers, adding amp, and powered subwoofer.
I have an iphone 6 with the ios 8. I am looking at two head units right now and need some opinions 1. the Pioneer AppRadio 4, and the Alpine iLX-007. My main concern is will I be able to maintain the rear camera in my truck with either setup, I'm not to sure how the model '13 cameras are wired.
I haven't really looked at the speakers yet but am leaning towards Focals, Polks, or Infinity speakers. I also need some advice on an amp not sure which one so open to ideas here. The powered sub I'm looking at is the Focal
Focal Integration IBus 20. Yes I will also be sound deadening the doors and rear part of the cab.
Looking for ideas/ input/ opinions? I listen to a broad spectrum of music, and looking for loud, clear, quality sound. Thanks in advance!

I've got nothin on the head unit issue, my setup is a little different. However, I am running focal ps165 components up front and 165 coaxials in the rear with a JL 360x4 amp. Then I have two JL 8" micro subs in the rear with a JL 500.1 amp and a bass knob. I freakin love it! I listen to all kinds of music as well and it is perfect for pretty much everything.

My door speakers are on the lower end of the focal gear and I absolutely love them. I've heard their high end stuff and it is awesome. I don't think you can go wrong with focal if you've got the budget for it. Just my thoughts, not an expert but I too love clean loud tunes!

Good to know I had heard of that before I'm leaning more towards the Alpine unit thanks

Well after research and reading on line sites I decided to go in a different direction. Since I don't need nav/DVD capability I'm ordering a DEH 80 PRS single din hu, Stage 4 PRSA900 amp, TS-172PRS, and TS-S062 PRS Speakers, keeping it all Pioneer

Well I pulled the trigger on a Pioneer DEH-80PRS to match the speakers I have. RAAM Audio sound deadner is also on the way. The RAAM, package number 1, was bought from a member on here just recently.
I know I could have saved some money by going somewhere else besides Crutchfield but I like the customer support that they offer and I feel comfortable with them.
Is there any suggestions, ideas, tips, you guys got just throw them up. I got the metra kit in black, and the harness to interface with the steering controls. Next month I'll be going with a Pioneer amp, Pioneer Stage 4 PRS-A900.
I did all Pioneer because I have always liked their products and felt it was a good way to go, the head unit has a boat load of adjustments that I like. The main question I have is what cables are you guys running? Any specific brand? Thanks in advance I will be updating this thread once everything lands and of course pictures!

Those look to be on the larger size. I'd say that the outer flange is about 1.25"

Either way, it's very easy to mount your tweeters there, and I would definitely recommend doing so. It helps out a surprising amount with imaging vs. the factory location.

I have 1 inch tweeter and want to do that. Is there a " How to? " Oh and do those come off without removing the door panels

I haven't seen any "how to"'s on this but it's pretty straightforward. Hole saw + glue = new tweeter mounts. They come off without removing the door panel, but you'll still have to run your wires inside of the door panel.

Yes what shaneckc said, and they do pop off. Unchained I honestly can't remember the physical size of the tweeters and if you want I can pop them off and get a pic of the back for you. I posted somewhere else the part numbers that you can search for of those sail panels. Pretty easy with a hole saw and a file to take out the rough edges. I'll be doing more work on the system on my next day off. I'll grab more pics then too.

As a side note I'll be putting the mids where the stock tweeters are now, then the woofers down below, all front stage for now. May end up getting another amp and throwing another set of speakers in the rear doors, not sure yet though

I have the new triangles on hand but I tried removing one gently and the inside snap broke. Glad I have spares. Is this really the best placement for the tweeters for sound stage

From what I have been told yes, I don't have mine hooked up yet. I have to do this project piecemeal due to work hours. I'm hoping weather permitting I can get a good jump on it next week.

So are your tweeters moveable? Or did you make them fixed? And are they fixed towards you or????
