Hello. My first post to TW.

I have a few questions about our Tacoma's stereo. I am going to replace the front door speakers, etc.......

I bought spacers from the 'Bay, they are made from MDF. Must the spacers be sealed or painted before I install them on the front doors? I have heard the doors are "wet" and not sure if this moisture gets to the spacer.

I am making a sub box for the rear, I want to mount my amp on top of it. Is there any problem with mounting the amp in this location? Vibration issues? The sub is small, an eight inch diameter rated at 200W.

    Thanks for any advice.

    Hello,
Paint them and they will be sealed and protected at the same time. Godspeed.

I had a shop install new speakers about a year ago and the speakers were falling off the adapters they put on. they were painted but absorbed water and were falling apart. all 4 of the screws fell out. they used some kind of cheap wood that looked more like thin cardboard.
