Xs power d3100, northstar AGM 31D is best for our trucks with higher current draw demands

I've heard lots of bad things about Optima's quality since the company got bought.

In my opinion, when adding any high power aftermarket accessories (audio, lighting, winch, etc.) you need to determine if your OEM charging system will provide enough power to satisfy you total electrical requirements plus keeping your batteries fully charged in the lowest temperature based on your driving and usage habits. Most OEM charging systems and batteries are sized for the OEM loads plus 20%. Your alternator and battery requirements will be vastly different making long trips on the highway vs. short city trips vs. parked without the engine running. The Reserve Capacity and Cold Cranking Amps will vary with BCI Group size. Generally the smallest is Group 35 and moving up the scale with Group 24F, 27F, 65 and 31, respectively within the same battery type. Another consideration is will an OEM charging system designed for wet Group 24F battery keep a larger deep cycle AGM battery fully charged. A third consideration is battery isolation to prevent the starting battery from becoming discharged. In the interim, you can use an external battery charger to keep your batteries fully charged.

To summarize, when supply > demand there is joy.

Get a Braille or XS Power AGM battery. They are WAY more powerful than the Optimas.

My Falcon wagon would need a 1000CCA battery for the size and compression ratio of the motor. But I have a S925 XS Power AGM (significantly smaller and lighter than an Optima) that spins the motor over effortlessly. I talked a buddy of mine into going with AGM's in his diesel Excursion - he has had the Excursion for 12 years, used a few different batteries, and was blown away at how much more power the AGMs have.

I won't be buying another one. Plus the heat down here kills batteries anyway.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
I went through 4 Optima Red Tops in my 02. Finally tried the Autozone Duralast Platinum AGM and pretty pleased with the performance and result with mine. Time will tell.

The 2700 is also a wicked battery,
I used both the d3100 and the d2700 in my truck

Weighs in at almost 80lbs., but it fits,
and it rocks. I'm done with stock factory and auto store batteries.

Free shipping with Amazon Prime; I only had to lift it into the truck.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Wish I had seen this before I just replaced my battery. Sub'd for next change.
