    Howdy,

    I have a 2010 Taco. I purchased JL TR650-CSi speakers from Crutchfield.
The kit comes with mounts for the woofer. The tweeter mounts only come with a "hockey puck" adaptor that screws into the metal of the door.

I think the factory tweeter bracket is superior to the hockey puck mount.

I've seen examples on this post of others that used a mounting bracket for the tweeters that seemed to encase the tweeter, rather than simply putting on a little ABS plastic on them and again screwing the hockey puck to it.

    Any advice?

I cut out the stock tweeter and re-used the stock bracket. Little epoxy to hold it all together, seemed to work and fit well. Maybe not the prettiest, but it's going to be hidden anyways.

    Hope this help.

About to go ham nuts on the audio equipment.
What tool did you use to cut the old speaker basket out?

I wish I had pictures, but I installed my skar SPX-t’s by buying a Lowe’s bucket, cutting out the bottom, and tracing and cutting out the original OEM tweeter mount. Then I drilled out all the holes and wala, tweeter mount. The plastic is the perfect thickness and works great.
