I'd like to install a Diamond D5 300.4 under my seat since it isn't fan cooled, but the damn AC vent is down there so I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about this. My options are:

    A) Remove the plastic from the vent
    B) Mount the amp over it using some custom risers (I doubt this will fit, but)
    C) Remove the plastic vent and use some custom tubing to rerun it around the amp
    D) Mount the amp somewhere else

So if I mount it somewhere else, the logical place is behind the seats, but it won't have much airflow back there. Anyone have problems with amps overheating behind the seats? The D.5 is a solid amp and I don't want to risk ruining it.

I have my Fosgate prime mounted over, and ********* recurve mounted over the other vent. No problems. That series of Rockford are known for low temps, but all is well at 1200 watts daily. Check the forums to see how hot your amp runs.
