Speaker mounts
How important is it to have speaker mounts installed? Does it make that much of a difference. Taco Tunes wants about 100 bucks and I was wondering is it really worth it?

Yep, use your factory mounts as a guide for the outline and then cut a whole for the speaker in the middle. I'd suggest mocking it up with cardboard first and then cutting it out of MDF or HDP. I'm getting ready to do mine this weekend and will post a template if I remember.
