Sub and Amp Install Complete in the Access Cab

Well I finally completed my sub and amp install. As anyone with an access cab knows the sub placement means some sacrifice. For me I was willing to restrict how far back my passsenger can lean back rather than restrict anything with the jump seats. Pictures for everything can be found by clicking the little camera icon in my signature box. As stated the jump seats work perfectly and the passenger seat is still in a very comfortable position. The box holds a single Fosgate 8" and is powered by a Phoenix Gold amp. While I was doing this I also ran my Ipod cable into my center console (much nicer). I installed a switch in line with the remote lead near the rear view mirror adjustment switch so I can easily turn off the amp. The hardest part of the install was getting the power wire through the rubber boot in the firewall. All total everthing cost me $175 (several ebay purchases) and took me about 6 hours (box building and install).

So how does it sound? Great! Three Days Grace's Animal I Have Become, Disturbed's Sacred Life, and several tracks off Green Day's American Idiot all sounded awesome. The great thing is it sounds really good in the truck but outside its only mildly noticable 10 feet away. I also played Techmaster's Bass Computer CD and the sub really responded well to it. Its SO nice having bass again.

Joe.

You put the amp under the drivers side seat? How much clearance did you have?

I probably could have gotten another 0.5" high amp in their but it would be tight. The amp I installed is listed at 2.25" high.

What type of sub and amp did you put in? I can't really tell from the pics. They seem kinda fuzzy or maybe my vision is going. I put an 10" Alpine Type-R in my access cab over the summer. Needless to say, putting a sub without sacrificing too much space requires some engineering.

Here's a link of a thread of my install over the summer.

I was hopeing nobody would notice the fuzzy pictures. I was an idiot and actually had the camera in movie mode (low res) so I ended up with a bunch of avi files and had to extract the first frame from each to post on the forum. Probably the dumbest thing I've done in awhile. Anyways the amp is a Phoenix Gold OctaneR R2.5:2 Bridged Mono and the sub is a Rockford Fosgate P1S48. I like your install but I just couldn't give up the jump seat functionality, especially since the jack is down there.

Well I made mine just able to move in and out fairly easily. If I need something in the compartment, I just push the sub over. The only problem is that the box weighs about 30-40 pounds and doesn't like to slide very well.

Plenty (least I could on my '07). The cup holder just pull out, there are no bolts or screws. I have both my xm and bluetooth down there. No space isssues at all.
