kenwood 5120 + ipv301 + 5th gen nano = no go :-(

Hello,

So I installed my Kenwood DNX5120 and attached the KCA-iP301V cable and my 4th generation nano won't play or be recognized. I look high and low in the manual but can't see where I can set it. It only shows how to use it and makes the assumption that it's plug and play. Am I missing something? I can't get the ipod to play.

Any help would be greatly apppreciated. Thanks in advance!

I think I found the issue. A firmware update is required to fix this issue. I suggest anyone who has a Kenwood deck (or any other brand for that matter) research to see what updates are available for your system. I'll be updated my deck tonight and will report back on whether or not it fixed my problem.

i had the same problem only i have a pioneer in dash. i found out it wasnt reading my i pod becuz i havnt updated my software on it. try updating ur ipod and it might read it.

 

Thanks for the help, my iPod is updated, my deck was not! So I updated my deck from version 1.5.0 to version 2.4.0, BIG difference and it solved all my problems. I'll be starting another thread to show the goodness of updating your deck, whomever made it...
