Wiring Diagrams

Does anyone know of any good websites that would have different wiring schematics for audio systems, i.e. 2 amps and a crossover with 4 speakers and subs, one amp and subs, etc etc. Thanks in advance.

That would be great...I'm likely going to have my system with the 4 door speakers hooked up on one amp and 2 subs on the other...mainly I was just unclear about whether I just run speaker wire from the amp, or if I somehow tap into the factory wires, and if I even had to have the factory wires hooked up to the head unit at all if I was going through an amp...Thanks so much!

Select the number of subwoofers and the impedance that you want and it will give you a wiring diagram.

 

Just let me know what you have as far as devices and I'll do a little circuit layout, scan it in, and email it to you.

 

I'm putting in 4 6 1/2" speakers on one amp, and 2 12" 4ohm subs on another amp. I'll probably just leave the tweeters powered by the head unit. That's pretty much it...I appreciate the help!

 

The tweets and the 6 1/2"s, are they a component set?

 

Yeah, it's a JL Audio component set in the front, and just another set of JL 6.5s for the back doors. Does that change the set-up? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I'm new at installing amps on my replacement speakers!

 

If the JL set came with a crossovers, then you should use it. The tweeters will be unprotected from low frequency signals, which is bad for them.

So, let me see if I have your setup straight. Aftermarket H/U, set of JL component speakers, JL coax speakers, 2 subs, 1 4 channel amp and 1 2 channel amp (for subs)?

How many RCA outputs does the headunit have? Should be 2 or 3 (front, rear, maybe sub).

It would be helpful if you posted the model numbers, just so I can be sure to give you the best information.

 

Ok, that makes sense on the tweeters...The HU has 3 preamp outputs, and is the pioneer Avic-Z3. The amps are rockford fosgate R300-4 for the speakers and P400-2 for the subs. Thanks again for the help, I really appreciate it!
