Is it just me or does that fire truck have rock lights? SICK!

 

I was about to say that...freakin' awesome.

 

I'm pretty sure each one of those lights is at a step so the firefighters don't trip getting in/out of the truck.

 

Didn't the car come with scotchguard protection like every dealer tries to markup a few hundred dollars on.

It should buff right out then.

What exactly would you tell the insurance company to get them to pay for this nonsense? the back seats just caught on fire? Should've let it burn all the way. They're just gonna assume he set it on fire to get out of making the payments anyway so good luck with that.

haha!! yea we call em scene lights and they are supposed to help firefighters from tripping over crap around the truck... i always leave them on when driving to help spot the curbs in town when turning.. i live in a small town with really tight streets so it really helps to keep from scrubbing the tires all the time.

 

You gotta admit though those boxer engines are beast.

 

Car was paid off... sooo that argument doesn't exist.

We did some more investigating in the day light, not sure if it was a missing fuse after all (turns out it was under the drivers seat). There's a horde of other electronic items in the trunk on STi's though, so it could have been anything. It actually appears as if the fire started around the intercooler sprayer reservoir.

Insurance has agreed to cut a check on the blue book of the car ($21k). He's more than likely going to buy it back and part it out though.

 

LOL, What is left to part out?

 

Everything just in front of the driver seats. Not to mention the entire drive train, brakes, wheels etc.

 

why is insurance paying, it was his aftermarket parts that caused the fire
