running power wire through firewall

can anyone shed some light or refer me to a wesite that explains how to run the wire through the firewall....
I'm wanting to install an amp..
I appreciate any input.

 

i say the best way to run a wire thru the firewall is to go thru one of the grommets that already has wire running thru the firewall. you can cut a short piece of coat hanger with a small bend on the end,with the wire attached, and basically just feed it thru that way.

 

I know most 99 and up Tacomas and FJs have a rubber gromet for the main wiring harness from the engine bay to the cab. There is an unused " nipple" in this gromet, just snip the end a hair smaller diameter than the wires you plan to run through it (so the gromet streches and makes a decent seal) you can see the acces gromet drivers side up on the fire wall behind your pedals.

 

the power wire is thick enough to just poke through right under the brake booster there is a gromet that you can go right into your cab.

easy access on both sides...
