6.5in subs in access door

any thoughts, assuming door was deadend

i like the idea because no box is needed which makes it a little more stealth and doesn't take up any of my storeage space.

sound is a concern, but i don't need a thumping system. i just want a bit more low end.

There's very few subs designed for that purpose. What I mean by this is that the door is too big of an enclosure, acting as if you had no box at all - you will hear this referred to as 'infinite baffle'. Subs are generally designed for a certain amount of airspace and will perform poorly to the point where it may be moving, but you won't hear anything.


To combat this, a guy came up with a fiberglass enclosure that will go in your door. It's not cheap, though. If you do a search, you'll find it.
