Can the dealership switch my 6 CD changer OEM stereo out and install the upgraded JBL ?

I have an 08 double cab taco.

If they can, I'll make you a deal on the one I took out. I have everything except the wiring harness.

    What's the general concensus ?

Does the JBL upgraded stereo (new 2008 taco) sound better than the base and the 6-CD changer system ?

I know some will say it does not sound much better. But that might be as compared to an after market super system. I'm not interested in that. I am only interested in OEM.

I guess I could test drive a new taco with the JBL in it and decide for myself.

But then the question will be.........can the stereo be changed out at the dealership ?

If I find the answers to these questions myself.....I'll post to all.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
if u do buy the JBL headunit, dont take it to the dealer. u can swap out the headunits in 10 minutes tops w/ just simple hand tools. i installed my aftermarket w/ a seperate brain that i had to run under the seat, reverse and speed sensor wires to hook up, and run a GPS antenna and it was done in under an hour. i'm sure like everything else that u take a truck to the dealer for, they'll rape u in costs.

Does anyone know if the '08 Tacomas with the standard single disk system come prewired for the JBL system?

I just got a stock JBL premium stereo with the little amp and found out one of the factory wiring pins doesn't fit. The one on the JBL is a 20 pin and smaller than the one from my 07 Tacoma.
Anyone had any luck finding an adaptor?
I like the stock look and got a good deal off ebay for the stock JBL.
Mine is a Canadian truck if that maters in the wiring?

    Thanks,
    Wayne
