The MP3 Question, plus "Where's the midrange control?!"

I've got an 07 Prerunner Doublecab. Does the ( non-JBL ) 6-cd player play mp3s burned onto a disc or not? I suppose I could find out by burning a cd full of them, but I don't have any mp3's to burn currently and I don't want to go to all the trouble of ripping all those tracks if I don't have to.

Second question- Where the hell is teh midrange control? I tried listening to Led Zeppelin's 'Mothership' CD, and I could barely hear the guitars! The bass was way too boomy too. Is there any equalisation on this unit ? I just want my midrange back!

I'm with you man regarding the mid's e.q.

I am very under-impressed with the 6-CD version (supposedly upgraded over base model) stereo.

I wonder how the JBL super upgraded version stereo sounds ?

If I KNEW it sounded great.....AND could change it out.....I would in a heartbeat.
