Need some help locating the factory XM tuner. I have a 2010 DC with the factory JBL/XM/BT and want to change out the XM tuner for a Sirius tuner.

I can't seem to locate the factory XM box...I've removed the radio and glove box - don't see it. I also removed the plastic surround around the JBL amp/sub and don't see it there.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Does anyone have a schematic or pics (I've tried a search).

    Thanks for the help-
    Cheers

It's in the back, under the storage box in the floor!

Thanks for the reply...but I checked twice just in case I had temporary blindness - not there.

I'm asking about the XM that is factory installed...not the XM ready unit that is dealer/owner installed with the kit.

I assumed it would be in the same place, but it is not...anyone else know? Guess I could try to stop by the dealer and talk with a tech.

Did you ever find this? I have the JBL system on my 2010 and I cannot find the factory location of the tuner either. It is not under the tool box like others mention.

If you find it, will you sell it to me? I was told I had XM but they lied and all if have is a stupid antenna and a button that does not work!

If you have the JBL radio the XM tuner is built in.
No separate tuner as far as a 2009.

Might be sidetracking here, but I figured I would share - I called XM and told them I was canceling my service since my 2009 didn't come with the tuner. They mailed me a free one within the next week. Saved me between $500-700, or whatever the dealership wanted to charge. I was in the same boat as Tarheel08 above.

Only complaint I have about using an external unit is that my display on the dash just says AUX the whole time...but hey, saved a lot of $$!

So they sent you an external unit, not a tuner?

Yep - They sent me the external unit that I mounted down near the cupholders. Then I wired the antenna on the roof. Sucks you can't tap into the stock antenna but free is free...

2010 Tacomas with factory Jbl has the xm module built into the stereo head, you can prove this by checking the drivers side kick panel, look for a white coax connection, this is the splice point for the rear wiring harness to the antenna and all in cab wiring. Toyota is chasing poor signal with my Xm in my 2010 DC Jbl, they have replace the radio/xm head 3 times, replaced the antenna, and now just replaced the rear section harness with the coax feed built into the harness. I sure hope this fixes the problem, my Ford super duty has aewsome Sirius reception.

Ha ha... I feel you bro. I knew I'd have to buy a tuner but I had no idea it'd cost around 700 to install. I'm just going to get use my droid Incredible to get music I guess.
