    Hey Guys,

thought I would share this information. When I bought my tacoma I replaced the audio system with an all alpine setup about 2 hours after I pulled it in the garage. Well come to find out the alpine ipod cable would not charge my 5th gen ipod nano. It would work fine with previous generation ipods.

Apple changed the charging on the new gen ipods to charge from the 5v USB pin instead of the 12V firewire pin.

It really annoyed me that I couldn't charge my ipod while its hooked to my headunit since it uses a little bit more power than if you were playing it normally.

After some research I found this, went to Fry's and bought one and bam my ipod charges now while its hooked up to my headunit.

Griffin also makes one of these as well another company I cant recall the name of. They all run about $30.
