Aftermarket Headunit Install Kit Issue

So I installed my Crutchfield headunit kit almost a year ago but yesterday I used my hazard lights for the first time and once the switch was pressed in it got stuck under the edge of the kit. I had to drive all the way home with my hazards on like a moron till I could get a knife and pry it out. The kit fit really well when I installed it and haven't had any other issues but it may be something to consider and worth going w/ the Scosche kit instead, even though Crutchfields is free with the deck. I put a knife in the truck in case this happens again but it sucks that the fit isn't better.

I noticed mine stuck a little bit when I did a test-fit on the install and took an exacto knife to it to widen the hole slightly.

I had the same problem with the Crutchfield kit. I got ticked off and hit it. It came undone. Problem solved (temporarily).

I will take an exacto knife to it later.

The two reasons that I didn't go with the Sosche kit: I didn't want a silver dash and I wanted to be able to go from single DIN to double DIN without buying another kit.

Sounds like the X-acto knife is the way to go. I doubt I'll take it apart just to fix this but if I have to get into my dash for something else down the road I'll try to remember to do this. I also prefer the flexibility (Single or Double DIN) and color of the Crutchfield kit and who knows maybe the Scosche kit requires some knife modification as well.
