Yep, that seems correct, called Toyota they sell below connector...but not a mate. IMO only way to mate that connector is via an aftermarket harness supplier such as Metra or Scosche. Neither sell anything like that. Did an image search on Google, came up with below images.

I talked to a techie at CrutchFields, he said that lower aux-input PCB was very likely a noise filter & may only have been an issue with the OEM Delphi HU's. He said the OEM jack should work okay with the new HU. He recommended trying it first with no power, also said that filter would have no effect on volume. He knew of no available harness to fit that upper aux-input & agreed I should just gerryrig it. :D

Delphi makes that plug and Im guessing the male one to since its on their radio used on the Tacomas. Mouser.com sells delphi connectors, but there are no diagrams so we won't find it unless we have a part number :( when I get a chance Im going to open the factory radio to see if there is and number or something to identify the male plug on the back of the radio.

epa4wd - if you do find the Delphi part # for that connector, it most likely will be meant to be soldered to a PCB. IE it will have a bent wire grill in back that would make it cumbersome for a dash harness. See below fotos...IMO unless an aftermkt harness company makes one, splicing soldered wires into the OEM harness makes most sense. Check out that cool Mouser 3-D datasheet! ;)

yup that's what I thought, but the plug could be easily modded to work. Wish metra or similar company would get their hands on this, these would be a nice product to sell, it could be a AUX + steering wheel control plug and play integration for aftermarket radios.

Have you called Metra or Scosche? They would sell a lot, tho mostly to us 2009 or later Taco owners.

Emailed them both, still waiting for response. Would call them, but I don't speak English good enough yet.

I think it would appeal about the same to all of us since now none of 2005+ Tacoma owners would have to splice wires to integrate factory steering wheel controls and it would make installations alot more cleaner.

I just called tech support for both of them. Metra rep said they were not aware of the new aux-input for 2009 & had no real plans to make a harness for it. Scosche said they were aware of it, but at present had bigger things to deal with.

    from scosche

    I sent them my address

Checked a few photos of the Prius radio and looks to be the same plug so looks like we are in luck. Will post results when I get the harness from scosche.

Great find, did you email sales or tech support? I'll call them tomorrow & see if they'll send me a harness. That Prius kit costs $45, so I hope they'll just sell me the harness.

Below is a foto of a 2009 Tacoma OEM HU, looks almost identical huh?

I emailed their marketing department, Im guessing if it works they will sell it separately or include it with either the 09+ dash kit or their aftermarket wiring harness. :D

I've seen the kit around a few websites down to 19.99 but still that's a lot to pay to just use the harness.

Your written English is excellent, I would never have guessed it was your 2nd language. :D

I'm fairly sure that brown wire in the smaller OEM radio harness is the ground for the dimmer. The OEM radio has variable dim & that wire completes the circuit. Most new HU's either have a manual dim switch or a day/nite setting which relies on feedback thru the OJ illumination wire from the Taco's lite switch. Therefore that brown wire is not needed on new HU's unless they have a OJ/Black stripe wire coming out of them.

Are you going to try the OEM aux input without power & with to compare? If you do tap from the blue(+) & black(-) wires on the larger harness.

If I read this correctly, you guys are looking for the mate to the steering wheel, aux input harness. Eclipse has them.

I contacted them when I was doing mine but got anxious and just spliced my 3 wires. The next day I got an email that said they would send me the mate.

    Call their support.

Thanks, I've been reading and writing in English since I was kid, so I don't have a problem with that, but since I rarely need to speak it, I sound funny when I do, I need the practice.

Yes, I plan to test it first without any power and probably won't connect it to the radio at first either, I will probably use an old set of headphones and cut the plug and attach it to the harness provided by scosche. I will probably use the laptop as a sound source because I can fade the sound from left to right channel so I can know if the wiring is correct or backwards.
