Arrow JBL speakers?

So I pretty much found the Tacoma I want, I am just curious if its worth it to try and find one with the JBL speakers and sub, also to get the controls on the steering wheel(only available with the JBL stuff from what I could tell, unless I am wrong?). Or just take it with the stock and upgrade it a few months down the line?

Thanks!

I have the standard stereo in my new double cab and I wished I had opted for the JBL upgrade. I am not very pleased with the sound...especially the CD. I think I will have to replace at least the speakers at some point

I got the fully upgraded JBL in my wife's 06 Rav4. The sound is good, but not as good as my cheap JVC that I put in my 07 Tacoma. SEEN HERE Also, from what I have been told, the JBL upgraded stereo does not play MP3 CDs. I also wanted my iPod hooked up to it, so I had to go aftermarket. That is why I didn't care that I got the "cheap" deck.

I have an 07 double cab with the JBL upgrade. It has one of the best sounds I have heard. The controls on the wheel are awsome. The six disc changer works very good as well and the sub woofer pounds the base. It does play MP-3 CD's and you can connect an IPod with an adapter. If you look at the price differance of the standard vs. the JBL, You could not buy an after market system of the same caliber cheaper

I got my new Taco Double Cab with the stock stereo... it isn't amazing, but it sounds decent. What do you think the cost would be to take it in and have the dealer add it in the future? I've also heard just replacing the speakers with something nicer will improve sound greatly (I could take it in to Al and Ed autosound)

The cost of mine was 450.00 when I bought the truck. That was the sticker price.

Im pretty happy with the JBL. Sure I could have spent the time and beefed it up myself.. but I dont have alot of time. And I wanted good sound from the start. If you have the money and the time, and are really into intense loud bass... then dont get JBL. Get an aftermarket sub/amp etc. I got the mp3/ipod adapter for an additional 100$ and it works great. Maybe down the road Ill replace the changer with a dvd/navigation head unit. But not for awhile.

If I were to buy the truck end-of-lease, I will definitely look into a dvd/navigation system. The pain of an aftermarket sub is you've gotta make room - which probably means taking out the rear storage contraption. I like how the JBL fits without drastic alteration.

Before I bought my 06' dubcab I owned a 2003 Tacoma Ext. Cab. Redid the entire setup and went with OZ door speakers all the way around and 2 Audiobahn 12"'s with a Audiobahn amp and a Pionner Deck..."Loudest Around Town"....Pushin 1600W in the ext cab. ...it was nasty...Im a music man so when I saw the new yota's got the jbl setup I went for it but to be honest..its not the best in the world...the 8" in the back distorts like cRaZy..and the only thing really going for it is the tweeters...they are nice!..but I am going to run in and upgrade the 8" in the back.. and throw some tweeters in the back as well...

My opinion is mine...but Im not that pleased with the jbl....but the truck IS NASTY!!!

I had heard the up-graded JBL system in a friends Taco and it wasnt to my taste. Ebay has a custom enclosure for to fit behind the seats for both 10" and 12" subs, running for around $100 bucks. You would be better off saving your money on the JBL and going first class and build your own system.

Not sure about the 09's but up through 08, the steering wheel controls comes with the non JBL 6 cd changer also.
