Plans for sub box and amp rack combo?

Instead of reinventing the wheel I thought I'd see if anyone already has a good build plan for a single 10" sub box and amp rack combo for a 2006 double cab? Something uncomplicated and straightforward would be preferred as my carpenter skills are definitely lacking.

I'm going with a 10" Pioneer shallow mount sub and a Kicker 5-channel amp that is 20"x10"x2.25". I'm sure there's plenty of space for this combo behind the back seat once all of the plastics are removed.

I'm also open to other suggestions for a clean and easy sub/amp install. Thanks.

 

That is the most common sub box application. The topic is covered pretty regularly. Check out MrMarv, he builds some of the best boxes and has built quite a few for Tacomas.

Thanks for the replies. I've been looking at a ton of people's audio systems on TW and it seems like there are a lot of options for sub and amp installs. There are few amp/sub setups I've seen that I would love to buy or build (including the one Mr. Marv shows on his audio system install sticky). Unfortunately, for the first time ever I just don't have the budget to buy a custom box setup, so that leaves me with having to build something. Woohoo!

 

I have almost the same set up you're looking at. I have a Pioneer 10" in a Pioneer factory box and a Kicker 5-channel amp. As soon as I take my son to school today, I will be pulling it out to install a Kicker TCVT10. The Kicker amp is HUGE and I can't get the wire covers on the amp with the longer Pioneer box. The new Kicker sub/box is about 1/2" too deep to just drop in, so I'll be pulling my backboard today to get some room. The Kicker TCVT10 smokes the Pioneer 10" shallow sub by a long shot. Besides, the box carpeting matches my backboard carpeting and we all know it has to look good to.
