You match the colors on each harness. There should be a wiring diagram in the manual for the head unit, and the aftermarket harness has a little write up on what each wire is. Edit: Bought one from local C.A.P auto parts store for 5 dollars. Good luck!

    anyway heres my recent install!

Reading these forums got me the bug to do something with my stereo. I wanted to keep the stock headunit(non-jbl) because it does everthing I want it too except sound good and that was easy enough to fix.
First I ordered the CTX65cs component speakers from ********* with the MDF adapters. Was all good except as said in other threads the mounting hardware for the adapters was the wrong size. No big deal easy enough to get:

Got me an enclosure with a single Alpine SWS10D4
    [IMG]

Remote bass control knob installed into one of the blank covers
    [IMG]

Alpine MRX-F65 amp installed under the drivers seat
    [IMG]

I am extremely pleased with this installation. The thing absolutely thumps. Mirrors vibrating...people in other cars looking at you like WTF..exactly what I wanted and all with stock head unit!
I installed the CTX65cs speakers myself which was easy enough but got lazy and decided to let Car Stereo and Alarm in Brea CA do the install of the amp, sub and bass control and PAC line converter. The work was excellent and the final product is exactly what I asked for and sounds better than I expected.
The amp is pushing 110 watts rms on channels 1 &2 to the front component speakers and the sub is getting 320watts from a bridged connection on channels 3&4. I chose to go with only one sub so I didnt lose all my space in the AC and i'm really pleased that I did. On a recomendation of the stereo shop I did not disconnect the rear headliner speakers, as he said there is really no downside leaving them hooked up and that they will provide a little bit of fill behind me. They do not run off the amp just off the head unit.

My brothers single cab. He swapped out his bench seat for two factory bucket seats. The box is ported through the center console. iPad in the dash.Moved the head unit down towards the shift knob. There is three car batteries mounted up front. There is way to many things to list about what has gone into this truck. The pictures should get the point across though. By the way when the bass hits your nose tingles, its hard to breathe, and it messes with your vision a bit as well. People stare, or get out of there car and yell at you in the drive thru(happened a few times already). It turns heads like crazy. It also sets off car alarms a lot.

There is a huge glare on it but the Bass Knob is in the center console

i was going to say, with all that work into a custom interior, it'd sure be nice to see something equally killer happen outside as far as paint and other things go on that truck

Was looking for some input on a double din unit. Can't decide if I was a touch screen or the kenwood dpx501bt. Any help would be appreciated. Does anybody have that kenwood? If so what dash kit did you go with?

For dash kits you got 2 choices.

    Metra or Scosche

I Prefer Scosche. Better materials, looks better IMO.
